CUPP flays Lawan over sack of media aide | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

• Describes Lawan As Buhari’s BoyNigeria’s opposition political group, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), has condemned the sacking of the Senate President’s media aide, few hours after appointment, describing it as “primitive, show of intolerance and sacrifice of competence on the altar of Halleluyah politics.”A statement at the weekend, signed by the group’s spokesperson, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, urged senators to be wary of the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, before he extends the 9th National Assembly (NASS) to the executive arm. It said: “The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) is alarmed that the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, could sacrifice competence and quickly withdraw Dr. Festus Adedayo’s appointment as his Special Adviser on Media, based on pressure from chieftains of the Buhari-led government. “We noted that immediately the appointment of this cerebral media practitioner was announced, Buhari government Kitchen members, Buhari’s supporters, some social media warriors on the pay roll of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Presidency went into overdrive and started mounting pressure, faulting the well-deserved appointment. Senator Ahmed Lawan has, with this decision, left no one in doubt that the Ninth Senate under his leadership is an extension of Buhari Aso Rock bedroom. That is his mission and he will go to any length to achieve this…“Let it be known that every action taken by individuals to either save or destroy this our democracy, will be recorded against such person for posterity sake.”
